ABOUT THESE HOOPS:
These Beginner Hula Hoops are our most popular product and have been nick named “Classic Hoops” with their candy striped appearance, reminiscent of the vintage styling with a slightly more modern twist.
They are heavier than cheap, shop bought hoops, but not weighted for exercise. The strong plastic tubing will take a lot of heavy use.
With their two strips of grip tape and two colours of sparkly tape they reflect the light beautifully, dazzling people nearby when you move with your hoop. Choose your size, then two sparkly tapes and two grips to make up your customised Classic Beginner Hula Hoop.
These hoops come in 20mm tubing.
(Approximate weight of 20mm tubing: 470g based on 38″ diameter hoop)
Please allow 7 – 10 working days for your hoop to be made.
These are bespoke orders, made from scratch to your specifications.
You will be emailed if there are any anticipated delays to your order e.g. sourcing materials.
Reeling at the price of postage?
All orders are posted via courier. We’ve haggled to get the best price for you, from a reliable courier. All couriers we spoke with, said that sending big items like hula hoops, would be charged by volumetric weight, despite the whopping great big hole in the middle of the hula hoops!
With hula hoops being large items, this can mean the postage cost is more than your average parcel price.
Bigger is better! A bigger hoop will rotate slowly giving you more time to wiggle!
To get a guide on the size you need for your first hoop, measure in inches from the floor to two inches above your belly button.
Alternatively start with a hoop that’s between 40″ – 45″ diameter depending on your height and weight.

If you’ve been hooping a while and finding that your beginner hoop is now a bit too big you may want to downsize a little. Reduce your hoop by approximately 2 inches as even this reduction in size will feel very different to what you’re used to, to begin with.

Looking after your new hula hoop can help prolong its life.
Here are our top tips for taking good care of your hoop.
*** You should always warm up carefully before using your hula hoop and cool down properly afterwards ***
Use it outside
It’s best to use your hula hoop outside where you have plenty of space, away from breakable objects.
Colourful tapes can leave marks
The colourful tape is beautiful but acts like crayon on the walls! Be careful if hula hooping inside. These marks can usually be removed with some Cif or other cleaning products.
Grass rather than concrete
Hula hoop on a grassy surface to help preserve your tapes. Concrete, tarmac and brick work will scuff and scratch the tape quickly.
There is a hand made join in your hula hoop. It can take lots of wear and tear but lots of squashing, pushing or pulling the hoop into an oval shape will put it under unnecessary stress.
Muddy hula hoop? Use a damp cloth and elbow grease to remove mud and dirt.
Don’t leave your hula hoop out side in the rain. The hula hoop is water proof but the glue on the tapes is not. If left out in the damp, the tapes may peel or crack.
Storing your hula hoop
Store your hula hoop somewhere dry. Hang it up, lay it flat or stand it up against a wall. Try not to leave it leaning against anything as over time, this can warp the shape of the hoop.
Do not leave it against a radiator or other heat source. The tubing is made from plastic and will melt. Try not to leave your hula hoops in the car, especially on a hot day. This can warm up the tubing and misshapen your plastic circle.
If for any reason your hula hoop does become misshapen, you can reshape it by leaving it out in the sun on a flat surface to heat up and level out.
